Landscape construction - Raised garden

Raised gardens are usually constructed from macrocarpa or railway sleepers but there are many other materials which can be used ranging from rock, ponga logs, landscaping timber to name a few.  There are many advantages associated with these gardens and these also cover a wide range.  The comfort factor (particularly on the back!) is a major benefit and the sides are a seat to use whilst gardening or even for simply providing a peaceful spot to sit and reflect. Weeds are kept to a minimum.  Raising the garden can also deal with drainage issues and bring the plants into a healthier environment in some cases.  Paving or mulching can be used to and around the garden to keep a mud-free, safe surface for accessing the garden in all weather conditions.
