Garden design and installation

This site was overgrown and had been fenced off to keep dogs in allowing the remainder of the property to grow wild.
Our brief was to make all areas of site accessible and usable.  This area was cleared of weeds including wattles, pampas and honeysuckle etc.  Next on the list was a retaining wall to make space for a courtyard which was covered with a pebble mulch, edging was added to allow for planting along front of courtyard.  Also a small rock edging was added on the side of the courtyard to plant a gardenia hedge.  Easy access to back of house was created with steps and path mulched with gravel.  A raised vegetable garden has been erected and the small water tank removed and replaced with a more suitable tank in a more suitable area.
A row of griselinias (G. littoralis and G. lucida) have been planted as a hedge to screen houses on hillside.  Keeping the bougainvillea on the deck trimmed tidily gives a feeling to warmth and screens other areas.

Gardens have been designed to complement new deck.

This entrance needed a lift.  A rock edging below and above the retaining wall to hold soil and mulch for planting.  Plants include flaxes, cabbage trees, and astelias (with hebes at top of retaining wall); they give this entrance a more vibrant look and feel.
